The Benefits of Using Body Scrubs

Body scrubs play an important role in keeping the skin young and fresh, helping the skin to regenerate and preventing problems like eruptions and acne.

When the body is scrubbed using any exfoliating product, the dead and scaly outer layer of the skin is removed exposing the fresh and tender inner layer.

Also, this removes the sebum that collects on the body on a daily basis but is not removed by regular soap. Therefore scrubbing the body regularly not only removes dead skin but cleanses it. Thus exfoliation helps prevent clogged pores and prevents acne and other eruptions.

Another great advantage of body scrubs is that they help remove callouses and thickened skin in areas like elbows and ankles.

But it must be remembered that if the skin is scrubbed too vigorously it may cause damage to the inner layers of the skin and resulting tissue will be tough and rough instead of tender, fresh. This is because vigorous exfoliating not only removes the outer dead layer but damages the new skin underneath. As a result the scar tissue develops making the skin feel rough.

So body scrubs are great if used gently and sympathetically.
